After the handover of the flat, ask your landlord to release the guarantee – by email, via the contact form or with the dated, signed certificate. As soon as the release reaches us the contract ends and you receive a confirmation. Alternatively you can send us the move-out report via 'Report moving out'.
As soon as the landlord's release reaches us, we close the contract within two working days. If the landlord files a claim, we clarify it with you first.
If your landlord files a claim (damage or unpaid rent) and you agree, we pay the amount up to the deposit sum directly to the landlord. You then have to reimburse us. Also report the damage to your liability or household insurance – they often cover the costs.
Not in the first contract year, unless you immediately take out a new Swisscautionen24 deposit. From the second year we refund the premium pro rata from the month after the release.
